Where I parked for my Target run...

This is the picture toward the store from the same spot.
It was the only shade I could find. With 1980's German AC, since converted to R-134A, I need all the help I can get in Houston summers.
And yes, I was between the lines.

I used to live right near there... Never worried to much about the shade though, since I wasn’t going to be in the car long enough for it to make much difference, just open the windows and go.

Ijust heard a story on the news yesterday about how for a generation, Germans have been convinced that air conditioning is bad for their health. So homes are not conditioned, cars are not conditioned... I can attest to this because I lived in Germany in the late 80s, and cars did not have AC. And frankly, when you are around the folks, the shall we say aroma of the people confirmed all of it.
